Use your coding skills to design, develop and present cool apps and products! All experience levels are welcome to participate. Lots of great prizes for this year's competition. The 5th Annual Reno Hackathon is hosted by Microsoft and the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center at the University of Nevada, Reno. The event aims to bring together students, developers, entrepreneurs to foster innovative ideas and code them to life in a 24-hour period.
Participants from all levels are welcome to join a team and compete for prizes. Special guest, Microsoft Technical Evangelist, Jerry Nixon will be on site to run the event and share his expertise and resources with attendees.
Additional community sponsors include: PC Doctor, EDAWN, Access Event Solutions, In Plain Sight Marketing, Bawarchi Indian Cuisine, and SWAG | Blue Moon.
WHAT: The event brings technology awareness to the community and showcases the power of collaboration by improving or creating a usable piece of software or service. The ultimate goal of the Reno Hackathon is to promote team building and get participants reinvigorated by working with the latest, cutting-edge technology and innovation. Participants in the event will utilize Microsoft technologies such as Azure, O365 and Windows platform to showcase a software, service or app on Windows, Android or IOS platforms.
There will be a total of $2,000 in prizes for four competition categories: Best game; Best Azure machine learning App; Best Azure App; and Best Universal Windows App. Participants will also enjoy product giveaways, food and high-octane beverages throughout the 24-hour event.

Any eligible organization or association can apply and need not be a customer of SWAG | Blue Moon. Use the Blue Moon Dreams application to apply, applications are reviewed by a panel of representatives from SWAG | Blue Moon and all applicants are notified of acceptance or denial within 30 days of applying.
Grants are awarded in the form of services and or goods including design, printing and promotional products. Applicants may receive services or goods in the value amount requested or in a lower or higher amount.
