The old adage “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know” is now truer than ever. But how do you know who to know?
Here are three types of networks that can help you achieve your goals.
Support. Form relationships with people who help you get focused during bad times. These may be friends, family or colleagues with whom you can just be yourself with.
Purpose. Include in your network superiors and clients who validate what you do, also family and other mentors who remind you that your work is important.
Equilibrium. Seek out people who will hold you accountable for activities that improve your physical and mental health.
